The FoundationRX Diagnostic Method

We diagnose. We prescribe. We treat.

A lot of foundation repair companies show up to sell you the most expensive thing they install. We show up to figure out what's actually wrong under your home first, then prescribe the repair that fixes it, and tell you straight, even when the answer is "you don't need as much as you were told." That's the difference between a sales call and a diagnosis.

01

Diagnose

A free in-home inspection by someone who does this work, not a commission salesperson. We look at the real signs, inside and underneath, and walk you through what's actually causing the movement. You get a clear, honest read on where your home stands.

02

Prescribe

We lay out the right fix for what's actually wrong, not the priciest line item. A plain-English explanation and a fair price in writing. We go over the plan and your options, and you decide on your own time. No "today only" pressure.

03

Treat

Dependable work by our own local crew, on time, cleaned up after themselves, and finished on or ahead of schedule, the way our customers describe it. We keep you in the loop the whole way.

Most foundation companies sell you a fix. We diagnose first, then prescribe only what your home actually needs. That's the difference between an honest local team and a sales quota from out of town.

Step 1, up close

What we look at during your free inspection.

A real diagnosis means looking at the whole house, not just the crack you called about. Cracks, sticking doors, and soft floors are symptoms. The inspection is how we trace them back to the cause. Here's what it covers, and why each part matters.

Outside walls and brick

We walk the outside of the house looking for stair-step cracks, gaps around windows and doors, and brick pulling away. The pattern tells us which way the house is moving.

Grading, gutters and drainage

Where the water goes after a rain matters. We check how the ground slopes, where the downspouts empty, and whether water is collecting against the foundation.

Doors, windows and drywall

Inside, we look for doors that stick or won't latch, cracks over doorways, and gaps at the trim. These often point back to movement underneath.

Floors

We check for dips, slopes, and soft or bouncy spots, and note where they are. A sag in one room and a slope across the whole house usually have different causes.

Foundation walls

In a basement or block foundation, we look for horizontal cracks, bowing, and leaning walls, and how far a wall has moved.

Crawl space

We go under the house and check the vapor barrier, standing water, humidity, wood rot, and the condition of the joists, beams, and supports.

Moisture and air

A musty smell, mold, or high humidity tells us how water is getting in and what it's doing to the wood and to the air you breathe inside.

Your questions

Before we leave, we walk you through what we found, what's causing it, and what we'd recommend, in plain English. Then the decision is yours.

Every inspection is free, and you're welcome to follow along and ask questions the whole way.

The method on a real job

A bowing basement wall: diagnosed, then braced in place.

At the inspection, this block wall had a long horizontal crack and was pushing inward. The prescription was to stabilize it with steel wall braces instead of tearing the wall out. That's the method in practice: find the real problem, then fix that problem.

What we prescribe

Where the diagnosis leads.

Once we know the real cause, the prescription is one of five services, or sometimes nothing at all. Here's what each one treats.

Foundation Repair

Cracks in the brick, bowing walls, a settling foundation, doors that won't shut. We find what's causing the movement, then stabilize it with the method that fits.

Basement Waterproofing

Drainage, sump-pump systems, and waterproofing that stop water at the source, so your basement stays dry instead of just smelling drier.

Crawl Space Encapsulation

A sealed encapsulation system with a dehumidifier that fixes the musty smell, keeps pests out, takes load off your AC, and makes the air in your home healthier.

Sagging Floor Repair

We add support under the floor joists and repair the sub-floor to bring sagging, bouncy floors back to solid, without tearing up the room above.

Floor Rebuilds

When the sub-floor is too far gone to repair, we rebuild it, joists, sub-floor, and all, with one local crew that finishes the job right.

What homeowners say

In their own words.

Misty Little
“This company came out to my home and did a great job. They took my very nasty crawl space that was full of water and transformed it into a dry healthy place. My encapsulation of my crawl space looks exactly like the pictures they posted. My only regret is not doing this sooner! From the office to the crews, it was a smooth, enjoyable experience.”
K. Schantzer
“From start to finish the process was great. FoundationRX repaired my foundation and installed an encapsulation system with drainage in my crawl space. My home no longer smells from the moisture! Would highly recommend FoundationRX for all your home foundation, water intrusion issues. Reasonable prices as well!”
Bobby Stinson
“Had Ryan come do an estimate and I had severe water damage. The estimate was great so I hired them, these guys are professionals, they got rid of all the damage replaced all the damage seals floor joists and refloored, and it looks great also had them do water control and these guys don't mess around, they did a professional job and took care in doing it!”
Frequently asked

Questions about our method, answered straight.

Because the same symptom can have very different causes. Cracks can be cosmetic. Sticking doors can be humidity. Sagging floors can be a crawl space or joist problem rather than the foundation itself. If we don't find the real cause, the repair may not hold, or you may pay for work you didn't need.
